Match Relics to Turn Sand Tiles Gold

Each puzzle board begins covered in sand tiles, and your task is to rearrange valuable relics by matching jewels. Every successful match clears or converts tiles, gradually turning the sand to gold. The board is won when all of its tiles are golden, so the matching serves a clear spatial goal rather than an abstract score. There are 30 different jewels available across the game, giving the boards variety as you work through the matching. The relics you rearrange are the objects being moved toward that golden state, tying the treasure-hunting theme directly to the tile-conversion rule.

The setting is the ancient ruins of Mayan civilization, where the matching takes place while you discover hidden treasures and priceless artifacts. Because the win condition checks the whole board, a puzzle is not finished until every sand tile has been converted, so partial progress on a single row or corner does not end the round. Deeper into the jungle, the puzzles grow increasingly difficult and introduce secret twists, cursed items and buried artifacts. Those additions sit on top of the same core rule: rearrange relics, match jewels, and bring every tile on the board to gold.

Hidden Twists, Cursed Items and Buried Artifacts

As the expedition pushes deeper into the jungle, the puzzle boards stop being simple conversions. Secret twists, cursed items and buried artifacts begin appearing on the same boards where relics are rearranged and sand tiles are turned to gold. These additions join the existing win rule rather than replace it: the board still is not cleared until every tile has gone golden, so a cursed item or hidden artifact sitting on the grid becomes one more thing to account for before the puzzle can end.

Buried artifacts are part of the archaeology frame around the matching. The Mayan ruins setting holds hidden treasures and priceless artifacts to discover, and the game also sets quests that award jewels and artifacts as you visit every continent. So the boards themselves carry the buried artifacts among the sand tiles, while the wider expedition supplies named objectives tied to the same relic-hunting theme, including the search for the fabled Golden Jewel Board and the effort to earn the respect of fellow archaeologists.

Hundreds of Puzzles Across Regions and Continents

The expedition is mapped across 11 regions, and the trip is measured in puzzles rather than miles. One supported figure places the journey at 180 challenging puzzles; another account of the progression cites 200 levels spread over those same regions. Either way, the board-to-board matching carries the player through a long sequence of regions, with the relics and sand tiles from the core rule still forming the work of each stop. The regional structure is what organizes that length, giving the matching a route through the Mayan ruin setting and beyond.

Within that route, the jewel set is fixed at 30 different jewels, the same pool named across the regions. Quests run alongside the boards, and visiting every continent while working on those quests earns jewels and artifacts. Those rewards connect the wider trip to the matching: the artifacts earned through the quests are the same theme as the buried relics sitting among the sand tiles, and the ultimate goal named in the material is the fabled Golden Jewel Board. The 30-jewel pool gives each region's boards their variation.

Story Quests and Dueling Jewels Competition

The story follows Rupert and Emma, who have settled down and opened a museum displaying their many artifacts. While their daughter Natalie is playing with a mysterious jewel board, she unknowingly opens a secret compartment, filling the air with spores and causing her vision to fade. Desperate to restore her sight, Rupert and Emma travel the globe searching for the fabled Golden Jewel Board, which is rumored to hold the antidote that will cure her. Cryptic clues from a shady stranger guide Rupert through a narrative filled with adventure, love and betrayal that changes with every replay.

Alongside the story, the pack includes an exclusive Dueling Jewels Tournament Play mode. You can pit your jewel matching skills against players around the world or be matched with a computer opponent. This competitive layer stands apart from the relic-hunting expedition, letting the same matching ability carry into player-versus-player and player-versus-computer matches. Progress through the adventure is mapped across 180 challenging puzzles, and the boards themselves hold buried relics, cursed items and mind-boggling surprises that appear as the journey goes on.

Safari Backdrops, Animation and Soundtrack

The backdrop artwork shifts with the expedition's route. Players pass through safari terrain, the Zimbabwe ruins and Victoria Falls, and the game presents these locations as dynamic backdrops with animation rather than fixed scenery. Puzzle solving unfolds against these changing African views, so the skill-and-twist boards sit inside a moving visual frame. The locations named for this portion of the journey are the safari, the Zimbabwe ruins and Victoria Falls, and each is described as awaiting discovery during the matching adventure across the continent.

The presentation also carries sound: the game names a heart-pounding soundtrack alongside wild sounds, paired with the realistic and authentic African settings. Dynamic backdrops and animation belong to the same visual layer, working together as the boards are played. The material frames this audio-visual package as part of immersion in the portrayed locations, while buried relics, cursed items and mind-boggling boards appear as the journey continues. Stunning graphics complete the presentation description, with special hints offered to help with the battle against time.
