Two Characters, Two Toolkits
In Super Lemonade Factory, Andre and Liselot each bring a separate set of actions to the same platforming rooms. Liselot can double jump, push small crates that Andre uses as steps, and talk to other characters. Andre can smash large crates and carry Liselot. Because neither toolkit covers every obstacle, progress depends on what each character can do alone before the pair can move on together. The rooms are built around combining these abilities so that both characters reach the exit.
The game presents this as single-player cooperative play, so one person controls both characters and switches between them. Switching lets the player apply Liselot's double jump or crate pushing, then take over Andre to smash a large crate or carry Liselot, and finally bring both of them to the exit. Their route runs through the lemonade factory, where they meet the foreman, the chef, a food inspector and a general. Talking to these characters reveals their personalities and stories, touching on labor relations and the moral dilemmas of running a business in wartime.
One Player, Two Players, Split Screen
Super Lemonade Factory supports two distinct ways to play the same rooms. In the one-player setup, a single person controls both Andre and Liselot and switches between them, using each character's abilities to get the pair to the exit. In Two Player Mode, two people take the roles for local cooperative play, and the screen splits so both can work through the factory together. The game offers no online multiplayer, so the cooperative option is strictly a local one.
The split-screen arrangement matters because the room design already assumes two toolkits. Liselot can double jump, push small crates that Andre climbs on, and talk to other characters; Andre can smash large crates and carry Liselot. With two players, each person handles one set of these actions in their own half of the screen. The character-switching and two-player modes therefore expose the same combination rules: pushing and climbing, smashing and carrying, and reaching the exit with both characters intact.
72 Rooms and the Bottle Unlock
The campaign travels through three worlds: the warehouse, the factory and the office. Each world contains 12 levels, giving a total of 72 levels across the game. Within each room, Andre and Liselot must combine their separate abilities to reach the exit together, so the level count measures how many cooperative platforming rooms the pair must clear. The worlds progress from storage area to production floor to administrative offices, moving the couple deeper into the business Andre stands to inherit.
Lemonade bottles placed in the levels decide whether the extra content opens. Collecting all the lemonade bottles unlocks hard-core mode and an additional 12 levels in each world, a second set that sits beyond the initial 36 rooms. The bottle hunt therefore runs alongside the ability combinations: while Andre smashes large crates and carries Liselot and she double jumps and pushes small crates, the pair also needs to sweep each room for bottles. Only a complete bottle collection across a world opens its hard-core mode and bonus levels.
Build Your Own Factory Floor
Super Lemonade Factory also provides a level creation feature: the tools and art assets the developer used are available for building brand new levels. Once a level is assembled, it can be imported straight back into the game and played as one's own creation. The underlying setup is named as the Ogmo editor, and the game itself is described as running on Flixel. Together these tie the custom stages to the same construction environment and engine as the built-in factory rooms, so a player-made floor is assembled with the developer's own tool set rather than a separate add-on layer.
Custom levels extend beyond layout, because dialogue can be written for them as well. A creator can author the conversation that appears in a stage they built, pairing the self-made room layout with self-written lines. The custom content therefore works on two layers at once: the Ogmo-built floor imported into the Flixel game, and the dialogue attached to that floor. The campaign's three worlds, the warehouse, factory and office, each hold 12 levels for 72 total, while collecting every lemonade bottle in a world unlocks hard-core mode and an extra 12 levels in that world.
