Six Sisters and the One Rule That Must Be Broken
The Path places six sisters in a city apartment, each given a distinct age and personality. Their bedridden mother sends them one at a time on an errand to their grandmother, who lives deep in the forest. The instruction attached to that errand is explicit: stay on the path. Wolves wait in the woods for girls who stray, and the sisters are warned to keep clear of danger. Rather than treating obedience as the win condition, the game builds its structure around a single rule that must be broken before anything can progress.
The rule-breaking is tied to a goal whose attainment ends in the character's death. Straying from the path pulls a sister toward the forest's temptations, and the choices made there change the environment and the character's outcome. The game frames this as growing, changing, and accepting consequences; the forest is where that test happens. Whether a sister resists temptation, stays clear of danger, or prevents the ancient tale from being retold is left to how the walk unfolds, but the store description keeps one rule and one goal at the center.
Walking, Running, and Letting Drama Princess Take Over
In the forest act, the player has third-person control over the sister chosen back in the apartment. Walking forward is mapped to the up arrow key or the left mouse button, turning in place uses the left and right arrow keys, and turning while moving combines a side arrow with the forward key. Holding shift with the up arrow runs the sister forward; on a gamepad, running uses a chosen bottom or left button plus the left analog stick. Movement is also possible with mouse dragging and joystick input, and the camera's rotation speed can be changed in the options menu.
Object interaction does not require pressing an action key on every prop. The sister is governed by Drama Princess, a system that lets her behave autonomously, observe and interpret her surroundings, and pick interactions with them. To prompt an interaction, the player positions her near an object and looks at it; when an overlay appears with the object, she is ready. The player then releases the controls and she performs the action herself. Force interaction can be assigned to the Enter key, the forward scroll wheel, or the gamepad's right button.
The Basket, Coin Flowers, and Three Secret Rooms
The basket is a two-tiered collection tracker, with the top half reserved for ordinary collections and the bottom half for the collections that unlock special rooms in grandmother's house. Each slot can hold an item the sister has interacted with. A black slot marks an item available in the current chapter, while a transparent slot means none is present. Once an item is collected, a drawing fills its slot; moving the cursor over the drawing or selecting it with the joystick or cursor keys shows a hint of how that collection affects grandmother's house.
Three secret rooms can be unlocked for each girl, and the route to them runs through coin flowers. Collecting six coin flowers produces a guide that leads the sister to the nearest special item, and those special items are what open the secret rooms in grandmother's house. The forest pickups are not cosmetic: every item collected there has an effect on grandmother's house, so the basket doubles as a record of those changes. When one of the sisters appears in an object's overlay rather than the controlled girl, it signals that the sister, not the player's avatar, can interact with that item.
Trail Dots, Darkened Paths, and Forest Attractions
The forest is split between a lit trail and a darkened wood. At the start of the path it is always day, while around grandmother's house it is always night, and where the sister enters the forest along the path changes the atmosphere. A raven appears only on the path, never in the forest. After the sister has walked or run 500 meters, a line of dots starts showing the route she has traveled, marked with a star for her current position; a new dot appears every 100 meters, and the slower she walks, the longer the trail stays on screen. The dots vanish while she remains on the designated path.
Each girl can find three attractions in the forest, special places where the world bursts into bright color; running is disabled inside them. The manual advises exploring the forest before meeting the wolf, since the chance may not come again. Reaching grandmother's house without meeting the wolf unlocks helpful guides that appear at the edges of the screen. A Girl in White may head toward items not yet collected. At a chapter's end a score and grade appear, but the game frames this as not about winning.
